Salary: Dermatology is one of the highest paid medical specialties. A 2012 Medscape poll reports that the median income for dermatologists in the United States is $283,000, with a range of $100,000 to $500,000.

Education: Dermatologist assistants, like all PAs, must complete 100 hours of continuing education every two years, and become recertified every six years by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
