Duties and responsibilities: Dermatologists diagnose and
treat more than 3,000 different diseases. These diseases include skin cancer,
eczema, acne, psoriasis, and nail infections. Dermatologists also improve the

Salary: Dermatology is one of the highest paid medical
specialties. A 2012 Medscape poll reports that the median income for
dermatologists in the United States is $283,000, with a range of $100,000 to
$500,000.
Education: Dermatologist assistants, like all PAs, must
complete 100 hours of continuing education every two years, and become
recertified every six years by the National Commission on Certification of
Physician Assistants.
